When you hear Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman” do you think about Faith Hill? If you do, then you’re on to something!

She revealed that she and John Rich were watching music videos when Faith Hill’s “Breathe” came on. According to Taste of Country, she looked at John and said, “This is probably never gonna happen for me because I’ll never look like that, and I’ll never be that. That is just not the kind of woman I am.”

He then asked her what kind of woman she was and she responded, “I’m a Redneck Woman.” And thus the song was born.
