We found out this past weekend that Indiana lost a broadcast icon.

It’s been said that Jim Gerard was on television and radio more than any other Hoosier.  He is most known for hosting the Jim Gerard Show on Channel 6.  The biggest names in movies, TV and sports were all interviewed by Jim when they traveled through central Indiana.

Jim Gerard’s passing is especially sad for us at WFMS.

Jim Denny grew up with Jim Gerard’s son, Jim Jr.  In fact, they are are still best friends.

Kevin worked with Mr. Gerard at his family owned recording studio. You may remember those Hook’s Drug Store commercials.

And, the former General Manager of WFMS, Monte Gerard is Jim’s daughter-in-law. So we consider ourselves a part of the Gerard family.
