PBS Kids To End Their Longest Running Show After 25 Years

Say it ain’t so…Arthur will be ending in 2022 after a 25 year run. It IS true though, at least according to TMZ and the show’s executive producer, Carol Greenwald.

Carol confirmed that the last season will air in the winter of next year. However, she mentioned that she and PBS Kids will “work together on additional Arthur content, sharing the lessons of Arthur and his friends in new ways.” Some people (TMZ cough cough) are guessing this means the show will be moving to a streaming platform.

I haven’t actually watched Arthur in years, but it was still nice to know that it was on TV. That was part of my non-cable-having school routine—come home, turn on TV to PBS, watch Arthur (even if just as background noise).

Here’s hoping it is still around in some fashion come 2023.
