Friendly reminder that we’re about two weeks away from Valentine’s Day and that it’s one of the biggest (and most clichéd) day that people take a knew and propose to their partner, but according to a new study it takes 36 hints to get to the proposal!
According to SWNS Digital, a new survey finds that the average person will drop 36 hints over eight months before their partner finally proposes and it increases based on how long the two of you have actually dated.
The survey also found that 49% of people get tired of dropping hints and waiting so they actually propose instead, but here are some of the most common proposal hints include:
- “Accidentally” sending texts or emails with advertisements for rings
- Purposefully put on shows or movies about weddings to spark a conversation
- Enlist friends start talking about engagements
- Leave open tabs/websites about weddings
- Go shopping together and casually pointed out rings
- Bring up a conversation about engagement rings
- Talk about favorite styles of rings
- Make clear the ring size that was needed
- Outright say they wanted to get engaged
- Talk or joke about being married in the future or refer to things that would happen “when we’re married”
