By now, chances are you may have heard me talk about Indianapolis Healthplex on the radio. That said, I haven’t really talked in specifics about my health and wellness journey and recent success stories to go with it (outside of my recent running adventures.)
I’ve always been a yo-yo dieter with massive weight losses and gains. In fact, I’ve weighed a lot less than I do now. But in 2020 I’ve been able to reshape my thinking towards a positive lifestyle change with my relationship with food, which has been incredible.
Before moving to Indy, I wasn’t in the best state physically and mentally, which lead me to turn to food to help me cope through things. Luckily, working from home helped me realize that this is the perfect time to refocus and retool. Initially, I saw this as an opportunity to get back on a strict “diet”, which definitely helped me lose my initial weight. But as time progressed, I knew that this, like my previous diets, wouldn’t be sustainable. Heck, I like drinking beer after all.
That’s where I really started to focus on making fitness a priority. If I can get myself moving every day, I’ll not only improve my strength and cardiovascular health, I’ll be able to have more balance with my nutrition. It’s been a great journey so and I’ve really have found it enjoyable. While I’m not trying to torture myself on the scale as much as I used to, I can happily say I’ve lost over 100 lbs in 2020 and am exciting to keep the momentum going into 2021.
If you’re looking for a great place to start working towards your goals, I highly recommend Indianapolis Healthplex. Their facilities are awesome with plenty of space to social distance. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or check them out for yourself at IndianapolisHealthplex.com!
