This is an example of why I never work with family…and because my mom owns a bar and my sister is a doctor and our skillsets don’t mesh.

Kelly Clarkson is being sued by her longtime management company, Starstuck Management Group. The group that is owned by her soon-to-be ex father-in-law Narvel Blackstock.

Kelly has been working with the company for about 13 years now and they are claiming that she owes them $1.5 million in unpaid commissions from The Kelly Clarkson Show and The Voice according to Cosmopolitan.

Variety says that there isn’t an actual written agreement between Clarkson and Starstruck, just a verbal agreement. Which, if you ask me, makes their argument null. But I’m not a lawyer so that could be completely wrong.

Here’s hoping they figure it all out and the divorce doesn’t get uglier.
