It doesn’t come as a surprise, but the 500 Festival has officially suspended/canceled its in-person events through May 9.
According to Fox 59, some of the events have been switched to virtual events. These include the OneAmerica 500 Mini and the Delta Dental 500 5K. If you’re registered for this, you should get more details on how to participate. The 500 Festival Kick Off should allow people to participate virtually in some way…that is still being worked out.
The Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Kids’ Day and Rookie Run will be rescheduled. The Mini-Marathon Expo will not take place, but virtual goodie bags will be sent out.
And the Education Program Study Trips are off, as schools aren’t in session.
As of now, the Indy 500 is still a-go, but the team is working on contingency plans per Autoweek.com
