Has the Red Line helped businesses or has it hurt them? It depends on who you ask, but it’s safe to assume that construction of it wasn’t motivating people to hang out on College Ave.
Taste Café & Marketplace closed a few months ago after telling the Indy Star they had seen a decline in sales. Louie’s Wine Dive and Hoitea Toitea both closed their Broad Ripple locations in September.
Now it appears SoBro Cafe is the latest BR casualty. The restaurant closed on January 12 after nine years in business.
While the co-owner said there was a slight uptick in visitors since November, it wasn’t enough to make up for what they lost during construction.
If you’re a fan of SoBro’s chai tea, you can still get it! Check out Indy Star to find out where.
