Sesame Street added another relatable issue to its storyline: addiction. Earlier this year, the show introduced a character, Karli, who lived with foster parents. That episode explained in an age-appropriate way that sometimes kids’ parents have a hard time and kids rely on other adults to keep them safe in the meantime.
Karli’s story was developed further when it is revealed that her mom has to attend (AA or NA) meetings for her grown-up problems. Check out the next big step in children’s television below:
