Carrie Underwood, NBC, the NFL and more are being sued by a woman named Heidi Merrill. Heidi claims that they lifted her song “Game Night” and used it for Carrie’s new opening tune for Sunday Night Football without permission or compensation.

Heidi said she met with Carrie Underwood’s producer, Mark Bright, and submitted the song to him. She was told they were going to pass on using it and then in 2018 a new SNF song was revealed and it was called…”Game On.”

I will say, they DO sound similar. But, I also wouldn’t be surprised if Carrie had no idea about Heidi’s version. I’m sure that’s something that her team would’ve handled without necessarily telling her.
