Brett Young posted a very apologetic video to fans in Iowa after his May 4 show in Sioux City. The singer lost his voice on the first song of his set and was forced to cancel the rest of his appearance.

Brett said his voice was fine during sound check, but started to give out about 15 minutes before heading on stage. “I don’t know if it’s allergies, if I’m sick — it feels like laryngitis. I’m so sorry. I tried.”

Fans were pretty understanding and other performers chimed in to tell him it happened to everyone.

His next tour date is May 9 so hopefully he’s good to go by then!
