Just two years ago the Indianapolis Motor Speedway moved the Brickyard 400 to September. The reason? To have the sporting event take place during a cooler month—which totally makes sense. But, apparently sales still weren’t too great because the race is getting moved yet again.
As of next year, it will take place over July 4th weekend. According to the Indy Star, the move will hopefully attract people to vacation to Indianapolis over the holiday weekend. Of course, July is one of the hottest months of they year so there’s that.
The Daytona 500 will move to a different date to accommodate the new Brickyard 400 date.
