It’s Deb…
You know that feeling when you lose something important and you can’t find it ANYWHERE? You can almost picture it in certain areas of your home, and you spend countless hours tearing your place apart annnnnnnnd nothing. The word frustrating doesn’t even describe the feeling.
You may recall, I STILL haven’t located the now-outdated iPod Touch that I hid from my son years ago when he lost a privilege…
For just over a month, I’ve been searching for the ring my mother gave me for my 40th birthday. The bad part? I don’t recall the moment it left my finger, so there was no ‘starting’ point to begin my search. That ring could be anywhere! I had no way of knowing if the ring was lost in my home, or somewhere in public, never to be found. (I also didn’t mention it to my mother, hoping it would turn up before she noticed!)
Fast-forward a month later, and I was cooking dinner over the weekend, about to take a meatloaf out of the oven, when I slipped on my oven mitt AND THERE WAS MY RING! I still can’t believe it slipped off of my hand without me realizing it, and worse, that I may not have cooked for an entire month!?Kidding! I have more than one set of oven mitts.
Folks, the lesson here is simple. Order carry-out. 😉
