Last year's Community Sale for Leukemia was a huge success and the 4th Annual looks to be bigger and better! The event takes place at Methodist Medical Plaza East at 9660 East Washington from 8am-3pm and promises to have a wide variety of items to choose from, and all will be priced to sell! Make sure you make plans to do some shopping and help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society here in Indiana. Stu will stop by from 9am-10am with WFMS goodies and great country music.


Eli Welch Memorial Golf Outing

Get your friends together and plan on attending the 5th Annual Eli Welch Memorial Golf Outing at Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton. Registration will be from 12-1pm and a shotgun start will be at 1pm. The tournament will consists of best ball and prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin as well as both a woman and men's longest drive. If your family is looking for something fun and unique to do this weekend, you need to stop by the By Air, By Rail Festival at Mount Vernon Intermediate School, located on the corner of SR 234 and 200 West in Fortville. The 3 day festival features a variety of family oriented activities such as hot air balloons, powered parachutes, huge LEGO displays, model train displays, entertainment booth, various craft and vendor booths, and more! You really have to see it to believe it! The event is FREE, and Stu will be by on Friday, the 18th, to help kick things off.


Pound the Pavement

Last year, close to 500 people participated in Pound the Pavement, and this year, we're hoping you and your family can participate! The registration will take place from 6:45am-8am and the 5K Run/Walk/Stroll will start at 8am. There will also be a health fair with cholesterol screenings, bone density tests, blood pressure checks, and information for your family on healthy eating and lifestyles. All money raised will go to the Coach Carey Foundation which will assist high school seniors with college scholarships. Oh, and pets are welcome to participate with you!


NHUMC Cars and Crafts Show

New Horizons United Methodist Church, located at 611 East 53rd St. in Anderson, is having a Cars and Crafts Show and would love to invite your family! H.O.G. Chapter MDA Ride

Plan on firing up your iron horse and participating in the 3rd Annual Indy West H.O.G. Chapter MDA Ride! Registration will be held at Indy West Harley Davidson from 8:30am-10:30am followed by the ride. The bikes will return to IndyWest at around 2:00pm where there will be live bands, raffles, and breakfast and lunch available! All money raised goes towards MDA, specifying sending children to camp. Stu will stop by after the ride from 2-3pm.

Hope to see you and your family at this year's Morristown Derby Days! Loads of fun and activities for the entire family! Parades, vendor booths, games, and don't forget the actual derby races! While at Derby Days, make sure to stop by the Lions Club tent by Morristown school on US 52 and eat lunch and/or dinner at their fish fry. This is an annual fundraiser to assist the less fortunate in the community. Money raised will be used to purchase eyeglasses for children, helping families at Christmas, and also help award 5 scholarships each year. Stu will stop by the Lions Club tent from 5-6pm on Friday.


New Hope Group Homes Craft and Bake Sale

Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church is having a craft and bake sale, and all money raised will assist the St. Vincent New Hope Group Homes, which assist women with brain trauma injuries. The church is located at 4450 South Keystone, just 3 miles off 65 south on the southside. Make plans to stop by early.....lots of crafts and unique items that are PRICED TO SELL! The proceeds will purchase Christmas gifts for the women at the 2 St. Vincent group homes. PKD Fundraiser at Ben and Ari's

It's the first Saturday of the month and you can find the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew at Eden United Methodist Church's monthly breakfast! The menu is loaded with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and more! A free will offering is the only price you'll pay, and all money raised goes to the Woman's Group at the church, help restock the kitchen, and various church projects. A magician will be on hand Friday night to entertain the kids, vendor booths outside the club, and more! Money raised will assist in eye glasses for the needy, food baskets during the holidays, and upkeep of the park.


Flat Rock Fireman's Festival

Hope to see you and your family at the Flat Rock Fireman's Festival! This is a two day event that runs from 5pm-10pm on Friday, and 6am-11pm on Saturday. The event will be held at the fire station in Flat Rock, just 6 miles east off the Flat Rock/Edinburgh exit, and will feature a fish fry both days, a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, flea markets, and live entertainment. Ashlee's Ride

Make plans to participate in Ashlee's Ride today! The registration will take place from 10am-12pm at Stables, located at 6125 Southeastern Ave. (465 and Southeastern on the east side) The ride will be a Poker Run (featuring both cars and motorcycles)and will raise money for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation and for Yvette Moss, a 17 year old who has a mitochondrial disease and is needing a wheelchair lift installed in her parents' vehicle. The ride is in memory of Ashley Milliner, who was one of the first children diagnosed with the disorder back in 1989. Live entertainment all day (Blue River Band and Bridges and Nuts), food, prizes, raffles, 50-50's, and more! Stu will swing by with the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew from 11-12noon.

Cornhole for a Cause

Get your team together and get ready to corn-hole! This event is being held by Relative Impact and will be held at Heartland Resort, at 1613 W. 300 North in Greenfield. They are hoping to have over 100 teams participate, and would love to raise $10,000.00 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County! The tournament is being held in honor of Dennis Muegge, a Greenfield resident and local businessman who volunteered at the club for many years and passed away about 1 year ago. Steve Stuart will stop by to help kick-off the event from 10-11am, but look for the corn-hole action to continue into the evening hours!


A & A VFD Fish Fry and Demolition Derby

Make plans to "hang out" at the A&A Volunteer Department Fire Barn at State Road 42 and Walters Road in Eminence for some great food and great entertainment! The fire barn will start frying fish on Friday night at 4pm, as well as have live bands and different types of entertainment all evening. On Saturday, there will be food all day long, a martial arts performance, a truck and tractor pull, and a demolition derby at 7pm. Also, make sure you bid on the items at the silent auction while you're there! Stu will stop by the event from 12-1pm on Saturday! Every year, Little Eagle Christian Church holds a HUGE 3 day garage sale, and this weekend will be the 9th Annual! The event starts on Thursday, Sept. 18th and runs through Saturday, Sept. 20th. Hours of the event are 8am-7pm on Thursday and Friday, and 8am-3pm on Saturday. As always, there will be a huge selection of quality products PRICED TO SELL! Make plans to stop by, the church is located at 3233 W. 166th Street, and all money raised goes towards different missions and community programs. Dallas and Reid's Ride

Time to fire up those "iron horses" and "metal ponies" and take part in Dallas and Reid's Ride. Registration for the ride will take place at the Plainfield Eagles at 5556 East US 40 from 9-11am. The police escorted 50 mile ride will depart from the lodge at 11:15am. Free t-shirts and food, while they last, during registration. Make sure you plan to stick around after the ride as well, as there will be a bike show, vendors, field events, live bands, prizes, and more. See you there!

Are you brave enough to visit the Haunted Cabin this Halloween? If so, stop by the American Legion, Post 117, in Pendleton and take a stroll through more than 14 different rooms in the Haunted Cabin! The Haunted Cabin will be open from 8:30-12midnight on Friday night and 7pm-1:00am on Saturday night, and will run Oct. 24th and 25th, and the following weekend, Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st. Not so sure about it? Then stop by the first hour of the Saturday night dates, and you can venture through the Haunted Cabin with the lights on! Make plans for you and the family to stop by...........IF YOU DARE!
