Jason Aldean was born in 1977 and, after his parents when he was three, Jason grew up primarily in Macon, Georgia. While Jason was interested in music from the start, it was his summers spent in Homestead, Florida to visit his father that really helped him develop his love for music. His father drew guitar chords on paper and show Jason where to place his fingers and when he returned from work he would let Jason practice on his guitar. Soon enough, Jason could play the chords he heard in songs, like George Strait’s “The Cowboy Rides Away.”

By age fourteen, Jason had the urge to perform on stage after watching award shows on television. With the help of his mother back in Macon, Jason was performing at the local VFW Hall where he sang “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson and “Sticks and Stones” by Tracy Lawrence to an audience of ten people. Still, Jason was already addicted to the thrill of performing and began entering contests and fairs. When he was fifteen, Jason joined the house band at Nashville South, a local nightspot in Macon.

After he graduated high school, Jason and his band played across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Finally, in 1998, Jason was approached by Michael Knox, part of a song publishing company, at an Atlanta nightclub. He then signed with Warner-Chappell and moved to Nashville. Once there, Jason found himself with a recording contract but was unfortunately dropped. When he moved to another company, he was dropped again and could not find a contract until he was spotted by Lawrence Mathis. Lawrence became his manager and helped Jason land a deal with Broken Bow Records.

In 2005 Jason released his debut album, Jason Aldean, which was later certified platinum. Jason finally made a name for himself with songs like “Hicktown” and “Amarillo Sky.” Recently, Jason has just finished his 2007 album, Relentless, which includes his singles, “Johnny Cash” and “Laughed Until We Cried.”
